Silver stud with brass oval earrings - Jane Hodgetts

Each individual jewellery design is handmade by artisan Jane Hodgetts in her studio in Hobart, Tasmania.

These stud and oval earrings have an oxidised silver stud with a hand cut oval brass element hanging below from an oversized silver jump ring. 

The total length of the earring from the top of the stud to the base of the oval is 56mm and the width of the oval is 38mm. 

Jane aims for her work to show traces of process, irregular shapes, hammer marks, naturally patined brass and rubbed back painted surfaces. It is the acceptance of the imperfections in her work that she considers a subtle rebellion against the more polished mainstream, that she considers its strength and uniqueness.
