Eroded Square Signet Ring with Sapphire - Welfe Bowyer

Welfe Bowyer is a contemporary jewellery artist currently based in Mahurangi East, Aotearoa, New Zealand.

This ring is handmade in 9ct yellow gold and is set with a beautiful green brilliant cut sapphire. The ring features Welfe's beautiful eroded texturing around the band and edges of the signet, with an eroded corner, that contrasts perfectly against the smooth finish on the face of the signet. Welfe’s jewellery has its emphasis on form and structure, material combinations, and textures that are used to bind elements. ‍He likes to create hand made textures with common alloys of Bronze, Silver and Gold and combine them in unique ways, playing off the strengths of one metal over another to create a language that speaks of time and erosion and how pieces might evolve in the future as they are worn.
