Beachcomber 'Norfolk Pine' Oxidised Bronze & Silver Pendants - Melinda Young
Made in the NSW South Coast studio of visual artist and craftsperson Melinda Young, the Beachcomber series explores the small forms found on the beach. Cast from the leaves of a Norfolk pine tree, this necklace pairs two pendants of oxidised bronze and sterling silver. The clasp on the sterling silver chain is finished with tourmaline and smoky quartz beads.

Melinda Young lives and works on Dharawal Country on the south coast of NSW. Her research-based practice spans jewellery, textiles, and interactive public art projects, exploring place and materiality. She combines colour and texture in combination with found and reclaimed materials objects, natural materials, precious metals and stones to produce bold, eye-catching jewellery. The tiny details of her environs, both natural and built/designed, provides a constant creative stimulus for her creative practice. Melinda’s award-winning work has been exhibited extensively in Australia and internationally since 1997, and has been included in numerous publications and is held in public collections.
