Bushwalker Charm Necklace - Melinda Young
Made in the NSW South Coast studio of visual artist and craftsperson Melinda Young, the Bushwalker series explores the small forms found in nature. This stunning necklace features three clusters of charms cast directly from pieces of Norfolk pine, gum blossom buds, and a gumbi gumbi seed pod, oxidised to a rich dark grey and spaced along an oxidised sterling silver chain. Contrasting shine comes from black freshwater pearls
The seed pod pendant dimensions are 14mm high x 15mm wide; the other charms are slightly smaller.

Melinda Young lives and works on Dharawal Country on the south coast of NSW. Her research-based practice spans jewellery, textiles, and interactive public art projects, exploring place and materiality. She combines colour and texture in combination with found and reclaimed materials objects, natural materials, precious metals and stones to produce bold, eye-catching jewellery. The tiny details of her environs, both natural and built/designed, provides a constant creative stimulus for her creative practice. Melinda’s award-winning work has been exhibited extensively in Australia and internationally since 1997, and has been included in numerous publications and is held in public collections.
