Katheryn Leopoldseder

Katheryn Leopoldseder is a Melbourne-based contemporary jeweller and artist whose practice spans jewellery, sculptural objects, and large-scale installations. Trained in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT University, she is known for works that explore memory, resilience, and place, through jewelleries relationship to identity.

Growing up on the iconic beaches of the Mornington Peninsula, Leopoldseder’s wearable aesthetic is often drawn to the sea. Showcasing Australian materials, including Broome pearls and Sapphires, her collections celebrate the quiet luxury of the Australian coastline. These are pieces shaped by memory, place and touch, designed to evoke the delight of finding treasures in rockpools. While Glimmer explores the solace of memory itself, capturing lush impressions of moments and scenes through an array of precious gems. At once intimate and lavish, these pieces carry a grounding weight and satisfying form.

Working from her studio within the dynamic Abbotsford Convent arts precinct, Leopoldseder creates pieces that balance material sensitivity with conceptual depth. Her work has been exhibited widely in Australia and internationally and is held in major public collections, including the National Gallery of Victoria.
