Artist Statement

Working in a new environment reshapes how I see, think, and make. The unfamiliar recalibrates attention: small details become signals, textures become prompts, and the landscape begins to suggest new forms of response.

Here, the visual language of the streets is one of entanglement. Vines push through rusting wrought iron; tangled telephone wires trace improvised geometries overhead. Structures meant to impose order yield to organic spread and weathering. Nature and the built environment meet in constant negotiation; sometimes in harmony, sometimes in quiet opposition. These are not sites of resolution but of ongoing exchange, where control and surrender, permanence and flux, remain in tension. This informs both my narrative inquiry and the compositional logic of my work.

In responding to these forms, I am also responding to a shift in perception: how place seeps into thought, how material surroundings alter the rhythms of making, and how being somewhere new opens different ways of inhabiting the world.
