Welfe Bowyer is an acclaimed contemporary jewellery designer based in Mahurangi East, Aotearoa New Zealand, known for creating tactile, architectural and avant-garde pieces.

Originally trained in architecture, he translates construction and physical modelling concepts into fine jewellery, crafting pieces with strong structure, truth in materiality and textures drawn from the natural world.

"I like to create handmade textures with common alloys of bronze, silver and gold and combine them in unique ways, often using found objects and playing off the strengths of one material over another to create a language that speaks of time, erosion, memory and how pieces might evolve in the future as they are worn."
