Bushwalker Oxidised Silver Ring - Melinda Young
Made in the NSW South Coast studio of visual artist and craftsperson Melinda Young, the Bushwalker series explores the small forms found in nature. This sterling silver ring has been cast directly from the delicate caps of native gum blossoms, which form a striking cluster on a rounded band. The ring has been oxidised to a beautiful dark weathered grey.
Band is 9mm wide, silver cluster is approximately 17mm diameter and sits 10mm high.

Melinda Young lives and works on Dharawal Country on the south coast of NSW. Her research-based practice spans jewellery, textiles, and interactive public art projects, exploring place and materiality. She combines colour and texture in combination with found and reclaimed materials objects, natural materials, precious metals and stones to produce bold, eye-catching jewellery. The tiny details of her environs, both natural and built/designed, provides a constant creative stimulus for her creative practice. Melinda’s award-winning work has been exhibited extensively in Australia and internationally since 1997, and has been included in numerous publications and is held in public collections.
