Aquamarine & Pearl Earrings - Ari Athans

A playful stack of bronze-toned hematite, silver, pearl and aquamarine brings together unexpected colour, shape and texture in a pair of sculptural drop earrings.

Handmade by Ari Athans in Brisbane, whose work explores unexpected combinations of material, colour and form.

Suspended from sterling silver ear wires, each earring layers a small bronze-coated hematite bead above a softly geometric silver form, followed by a yellow-pink pearl and faceted aquamarine bead. The warm metallic tones of the hematite and pearl contrast beautifully with the cool translucence of the aquamarine, while the changing shapes give the composition a lively sense of rhythm and movement.
