Foundry Collection Studio transforms reclaimed bronze casting spill from Newcastle Foundries into one-of-a-kind wearable sculptural forms. Each piece begins as an industrial by-product, formed by chance during the bronze casting process, before being carefully hand-shaped and finished to preserve its organic character and history. Driven by a commitment to sustainability, Suzanne created the collection to give new purpose to discarded material. The work explores transformation, celebrating the connection between industrial heritage, contemporary jewellery, and thoughtful making.

Foundry Collection is the jewellery practice of artist Suzanne Curran, whose work is rooted in ethical practice, collaboration, and storytelling. A graduate of St Martin’s School of Art (BA Hons) and Cardiff Metropolitan University (MA, PGCE), Suzanne combines contemporary art and craft through sustainable wearable sculpture. 
Inspired by Newcastle’s industrial heritage and its ongoing creative transformation, Suzanne sought a way to create jewellery that reflected both place and purpose. This led her to the historic Newcastle Foundries, one of the city’s oldest businesses, established in 1890. There, she discovered bronze metal spill, a by-product of the industrial casting process that would otherwise be treated as waste. 
Each piece begins as an irregular bronze fragment, spilt onto sand and formed by chance. Suzanne carefully sculpts and finishes every piece by hand, preserving its organic character while transforming it into a refined piece of wearable sculpture. There are no moulds, no replication, pieces are not wax or sand cast, each piece is entirely unique. 
Through Foundry Collection, and by working on a small, considered scale, Suzanne transforms reclaimed industrial materials into wearable sculpture, celebrating sustainability, craftsmanship, material heritage and meaningful transformation.
