Married Metal Squares Pendant - Melanie Ihnen
Melanie Ihnen studied design at Newcastle TAFE and Jewellery and Object at Enmore Design Centre Sydney. She has since been a maker, teacher, curator and gallery director. Melanie has been teaching, exhibiting and practicing jewellery in Sydney for over 15 years and works in her Sydney studio, producing her hand made collections.
Influenced by geometric shapes, architecture and the subtle colour and tonal variations of metals, she employs the technique of Married metals, combining precious metals and gems. Her works are an exploration of technique and form, and each piece embodies clean lines and surfaces with an elegant and minimalist aesthetic.
This Married Metal 'Squares' hollow-form pendant is made of 14ct yellow gold, precision inlaid with a contrasting square of 14ct white gold. It rests on a square snake chain of oxidised sterling silver.
Pendant measures 11mm square; necklace 42cm length.
