Pearl, Ruby & Silver Earrings - Ari Athans

A rough ruby crystal, grey pearl and bronze-toned hematite come together with a geometric silver eye in an unexpected mix of colour, texture and form.

Suspended from sterling silver ear wires, each earring layers a small bronze-coated hematite bead above an eye-shaped silver element, with a rough tumbled ruby crystal and grey pearl hanging below. The raw texture and rich colour of the ruby contrast with the pearl’s soft lustre and smooth metallic surfaces, while the silver eye gives the composition a strong graphic centre. Compact but full of detail, the earrings reflect Ari’s distinctive approach to combining unusual gemstones and geological materials.
