These three one-off bracelets are handmade from perforated mild steel with sterling silver details. Each explores a different sculptural language: abstract geometry, the organic curves of my home's wrought iron gate, and the construction of square forms as wearable sculpture. Through hand-forming industrial steel, I transform a material associated with construction into intimate jewellery. Although created at different times, the works share the same enquiry—to reveal the poetic and precious qualities hidden within everyday industrial materials.

Jin Ah Jo is a Melbourne-based contemporary jewellery artist originally from South Korea. Her practice explores identity, transformation, and impermanence through migration and Buddhist thought. Holding an MFA from Monash University and study experience at Fachhochschule Düsseldorf, she works primarily with perforated mild steel combined with silver, brass, and gold. Her surfaces balance structure and fragility, reflecting absence, time, and change. Jo has exhibited internationally across Australia, China, the UK, and the USA, including LOOT at the Museum of Arts and Design, NYC. She is a 2025 MAKE Award finalist and a 2024 Homo Faber recommended artisan.
