Yuko Fujita

Yuko Fujita is a Melbourne-based contemporary jeweller originally from Japan. She first studied literature before moving to Australia to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT University.

Yuko approaches jewellery making in a similar way to composing a poem. She carefully assembles visual “words” drawn from botanical forms - such as shape, colour, texture and movement - to create small sculptural pieces that are subtle, expressive and open to interpretation. Through this process, her jewellery aims to evoke emotion, memory and personal meaning for the wearer.
