Yuko Fujita

Yuko Fujita is a Melbourne-based contemporary jeweller originally from Japan. She first studied literature before moving to Australia to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Gold and Silversmithing at RMIT University.

Yuko approaches jewellery making in a similar way to composing a poem, carefully assembling visual "words" drawn from botanical forms, such as shape, colour, texture and movement, to create small sculptural pieces that are subtle, expressive and open to interpretation. Through this process, her jewellery aims to evoke emotion, memory and personal meaning for the wearer.
