Hakea Leaf & Onyx Necklace - Robin Wells

A long polished black onyx drop hangs beneath a richly textured Hakea leaf, combining deep oxidised silver with flashes of 24ct gold.

Handmade by Robin Wells in Perth, whose jewellery explores the beauty and fragility of Australian native flora through finely detailed, contemporary forms.

Suspended from a long oxidised sterling silver chain, the leaf-shaped pendant is crafted in oxidised silver with 24ct gold leaves fused to its surface using the traditional Korean technique of keum-boo. A finely embossed Hakea leaf pattern runs across the composition, layering botanical texture over the contrasting black and gold. Hanging below, an elongated teardrop-shaped black onyx cabochon adds a smooth, highly polished counterpoint to the detailed metalwork and gives the pendant a beautifully long, elegant profile.
