Hakea Nut Earrings - Robin Wells

Tiny Hakea nuts emerge across a layered surface of silver and rich 24ct gold in these compact oval earrings.

Handmade by Robin Wells in Perth, whose jewellery explores the beauty and fragility of Australian native flora through finely detailed, contemporary forms.

Crafted in fine silver with sterling silver hooks, each oval is fused with 24ct gold using the traditional Korean technique of keum-boo. An embossed Hakea nut pattern sits across the silver and gold, allowing the intricate botanical forms to move between the two metals and giving the small earrings plenty of surface detail. Fixed directly to the hooks rather than freely suspended, they sit neatly at the ear, making them an easy-to-wear smaller piece with Robin’s distinctive combination of Australian flora, texture and precious metal.
