Rippled Mollusc Brooch - Katheryn Leopoldseder
A sculptural brooch featuring rippled mollusc forms embracing a Tahitian pearl.
Handmade by Katheryn Leopoldseder in Melbourne, whose work explores personal adornment through sculptural forms and meticulous craftsmanship.
Crafted in matte-finished and oxidised sterling silver with a Tahitian pearl, the design is part of Katheryn's Sea series, where fluid forms and contrasting textures reflect memories of the artist's seaside childhood on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula. One of Katheryn's signature designs, the brooch pairs rippling nested mollusc forms with the luminous pearl, creating a striking contrast between the oxidised and matte silver finishes and the pearl's natural lustre. Each brooch is individually formed, with the ripples and undulations varying subtly from piece to piece, making every example unique.
Designed to sit securely on a lapel, scarf or knitwear, it brings a sculptural focal point to everyday dressing.
